My 6 cats ate it right away even after their dinner! So much easier than making my own.

Description

Meet Unicorn Pate, the vegan wet food topper made to add a boost of nutrition and flavor to your cat's bowl. Cats are obligate carnivores, so Unicorn Pate is made to be served as a side dish alongside their regular food. Spoon it over kibble, serve a little beside their usual meal, or stir a spoonful into dry food to add moisture, plant-based protein, and a smooth pate texture that cats love.

There is a lot of nutrition packed into every 5.5 ounce can: 160 kcal of metabolizable energy, 8.5% crude protein (min), 4.0% crude fat (min), and 0.1% taurine, the essential amino acid cats need, plus a fortified blend of vitamins and minerals. It is made with wholesome ingredients like lentils, sweet potatoes, and marine microalgae, and formulated to the nutrient levels in the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles. Serve at room temperature alongside fresh water.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Unicorn Pate as a side dish or topper for my cat?

Yes, that is exactly how Unicorn Pate is meant to be used. Cats are obligate carnivores, so Unicorn Pate is designed as a side dish or topper to serve alongside your cat's regular food. Add about 1/3 to 1/2 can, or 1 to 2 tablespoons, over their usual meal to bring extra moisture, protein, and variety.

How much pate should I add as a side dish?

Start with 1 to 2 tablespoons stirred into your cat's regular food, or 1/3 to 1/2 can served alongside it, and adjust to your cat's size and appetite. Refrigerate the unused portion and discard food left out for two hours.

What nutrients does Unicorn Pate add to my cat's diet?

Each serving adds plant-based protein, moisture, and a fortified blend of vitamins and minerals, including taurine, the essential amino acid cats need. Per 5.5 ounce can it provides 160 kcal of metabolizable energy, 8.5% crude protein, 4.0% crude fat, and 0.1% taurine, and it is formulated to the nutrient levels in the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles.

Is pate a good option for cats?

Pate is a smooth, soft wet food that many cats find easy to eat and highly palatable. Its high moisture content (Unicorn Pate is 78% moisture maximum) helps with hydration, which is useful for cats that do not drink much water and for senior cats that prefer a softer texture.

What is cat food pate?

Pate is a finely blended wet cat food with a smooth, spreadable consistency and no visible chunks. That texture makes it easy to spoon over kibble as a topper or to mix into other foods as a side dish.

I thought cats were obligate carnivores. How does a plant-based pate work?

Cats are obligate carnivores, which means they need nutrients such as taurine that are traditionally found in meat. Unicorn Pate is a plant-based side dish that supplies taurine, vitamins, and minerals, so you can add plant-based variety and nutrition to the meals your cat already eats.

Does Unicorn Pate meet AAFCO requirements?

Yes. Unicorn Pate is formulated to meet the nutrient levels established by the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for maintenance, so the nutrition you add as a topper is held to a recognized standard.

Can I cancel my Wild Earth subscription anytime?

MY CAT LOVES IT

"My cat was a little hesitant at first to eat it but after mixing with a little water she loves it! My cat grew up the majority of her life in a shelter as a kitty eating animal products and now she has transitioned to a fully vegan meal plan! She eats natures hug for dry food and now the unicorn pate! There is lots of research out there that cats extend there life span when eating veg"

This food is normally complete

"I'm giving this five stars to offset all the ignoramus in the comments about oBlIgAtE cArNiVoReS. Cats need nutrients, not ingredients. This food, like all the other cat foods, has an the nutrients needed for cats to thrive. There have been multiple scientific studies proving this at this point. The only problem is that my cats don't like it. My friend's cat did like it though."

Smart Cat Loves This

"I put 4 of our kitty’s favorite treats with the Wild Earth pate in the middle and the kitty sniffed everything and devoured the pate first. This is a feral kitty that is super sweet and extremely smart. Recently she opened the bedroom door that was not firmly shut by bumping it til open or reach under to pull open."

"I've fed my cats vegan cat food exclusively for a couple of decades, and this product is a game changer. It is the wet vegan cat food that is probably closest in smell to non-vegan canned food. I find that most cats take to it immediately. I still use other vegan cat food products as well, but this is a staple product for my cats. A+"

Absolute Garbage Customer Service and Unreliable Subscription Experiences

"My subscription was supposed to ship on January 2. It didn’t. I waited. Status never updated. I had to purchase 2 smaller bags to get my dogs through in the meantime. Finally, I called. The Wild Earth customer support representative told me that a new bag would be sent to me free of charge. I said, “But you charged me for it at the beginning of January. Do you mean you are refunding that charge?” They told me no, that they wouldn’t charge me for the replacement. I said, “Of course you wouldn’t charge me for the replacement… because you never actually shipped the bag that I paid for and was due to receive 1. 5 months ago. ” I reminded the agent that this is not the first time that this has happened with my Wild Earth orders and it is a major inconvenience. They told me that for the inconvenience Wild Earth caused, that they would include free treats in my order. Wild Earth did not include free treats in my order. Last time this happened, they only charged me $40 for my order… 50% off my subscription pricing. But nothing. Again, not the first time a long delay has occurred in receiving my subscription. I try calling Wild Earth customer service – just goes to voicemail. I called over 10x. Voicemail. Tried “Live Chat” but no answer there either – I’ve been waiting over 30 minutes. How is that a “Live Chat”? I’ve texted. No response there either. People want to support you, but you sure don’t do a good job supporting them in return. I hate to leave a bad review, but for years I’ve paid more for your product than I would from your competitor. DO BETTER WILD EARTH!"

3 Generations of Vegan Cats

"We started transitioning our cats (and dogs) vegan in 1993 never regretted it. At first we used a product called Vegepet, then compassioncircle. com, and now Evolution brand kibbles for our three cats and one dog. All of their blood chemistries have been excellent, according to the vets over the years. And our pets live long and happy lives. We recently tried Wild Earth products just out of curiosity and the cats like it. We are pleased that we have had a cruelty free house all these years. We love ALL animals, and do not believe that the inhumane suffering of farm animals is ever justified. Don't believe this BS from the pet food industry about cats being obligate carnivores. The commercial pet food industry is lying––just to make more billions of dollars!"

Even my dogs love this!

"Super high quality vegan cat food and my dogs love it as well"

Mike M. (5/5)

Success!

"All five of my cats ate it up on the first try. Goes nicely with their vegan kibble to add interest and moisture. I will also continue adding a few other things like puree and yeast flakes and I may add a little oil or broth to moisten it more. So great to have a vegan wet food they like. Thanx so much!"

Promising, Needs Palatability Revision

"I genuinely appreciate Wild Earth's effort to make this vegan wet food nutritionally complete (inc. taurine etc) for cats. I think there need to be more companies like this! And it's a sign of progress, both in terms of animal ethics and health. Unfortunately, our cats weren't interested. I tried warming, sprinkling with nutritional yeast, catnip, nothing worked. I recognize these are difficult challenges, but I think R&D needs to be done to figure out how to make these products more palatable. (Perhaps certain products, as an option, aiming to mimic existing "mainstream" products taste. To be more appealing to cats with existing habits. )"
