Vitamins & Minerals: The Foundation to Thrive

by Wes Chang

This is our series on the ingredients in Wild Earth’s Clean Protein dog food called ‘Ingredients With A Purpose’. We understand there are A LOT of options when it comes to what you feed your dog. We also understand you want to feed them the best food possible and labels can be confusing. The goal of this series is to give you insight into the role each ingredient plays in our food and the components that make a complete dog diet. We’ve broken the articles down into the components that make a healthy dog diet: Protein, Fats & Carbohydrates, Fibers, Vitamins & Minerals, Essential Fatty Acids, Superfoods, Amino Acids, Prebiotics & Probiotics.

Vitamins and Minerals

Rounding out our series on a complete dog diet are vitamins and minerals. Many of these nutrients are found in the whole ingredients in our food. Yeast, chickpeas, oats, and sweet potatoes contain many of the vital vitamins and minerals your dog needs. Vitamins and minerals work together to support every single function in not just a dog or human, but every living organism. They are the essential substances bodies need to function and develop properly.

In order to ensure the best possible formula, we’ve also fortified our food with certain nutrients to give your dog the optimum levels. We ensure your dog gets all the nutrients they need by fortifying our dog food with additional ingredients such as potassium chloride and L-carnitine for heart health, to help maintain a healthy metabolism and build strong muscles; zinc for digestion, skin, and immune function; and our yeast protein is rich in B vitamins and beta-carotene for vitamin A.

Wild Earth Clean Protein Dog Food is formulated to be a complete and balanced diet for your dog. We use absolutely no animal ingredients and that includes all of our added vitamins and minerals.
